Vascular Access Center

The Fresno Nephrology Vascular Access Center offers the opportunity to improve patient outcomes and quality of life while helping physicians concentrate on proactive care and early intervention.

Our goal is to work with local physicians and surgeons to improve the delivery and outcomes of interventional vascular access care through our dedicated outpatient center.

Procedures
Lifeline Vascular Access managed centers perform the following procedures:
     • Angiograms
     • Angioplasty
     • Thrombectomy
     • Catheter placements, removals and exchanges
     • Comprehensive peritoneal catheter care
     • Vessel mapping for optimal access placement
     • Fistula maturation and repair

Additionally, a limited number of centers perform the following procedures:
     • CO2 angiography
     • PICC placement and removal
     • Lower extremity angiography

Pioneer in Field
Over the last year, the healthcare community has witnessed remarkable improvements in the administration of vascular access care. Previously, end-stage renal disease patients all too often received sub-optimal vascular access care. Few physicians were dedicated to this area of practice and there was little coordination between specialists, patients and dialysis facilities. Access problems were often identified and treated only after they had become severe. As a result, costs for care were high, patient quality of life suffered and outcomes were poor.

In 2008, Fresno Nephrology Vascular Access Center was opened to specifically address these deficiencies and improve the delivery and coordination of vascular access care to ESRD patients. Through this approach, this area of healthcare has witnessed significant improvements. Today, delivering vascular access care in a dedicated outpatient environment has become the standard for care.

Service Excellence
Physicians who use the Fresno Nephrology Vascular Access Center maintain control over the continuum of patient care. Nephrologists know their patients and how vascular access impacts all other facets of care. A dedicated vascular access center enables nephrologists to take a more active role in overseeing and caring for their patients' vascular access.

Joint Commission Accreditation
Many states now require accreditation for office-based surgical procedures. The Fresno Vascular Access Center is proud to be accredited by The Joint Commission. This accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to meeting high healthcare performance standards.
